It Is Not About Where You Start From

I was listening to Sport Radio, Brila FM, this morning and the Big Larry himself was doing a feature on FC Barcelona’s coach, Josep “Pep” Guardiola. One striking thing about his story is that Guardiola started at Barcelona as a ball boy before working his way up the ladder of the club. From...

What Happened To Your Childhood Dream(s)?

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Adebola Oni

"When I was growing up, one habit I often engage in is day dreaming.

Brownies Adebimpe AdeyiOften times I walk home from sleep and what I do, nearly all the times I spend on the road, is to get lost in my dreams.

I day dream about so many things but at the end of the day, it always dawn on me that these are mere wishes. Unfortunately, no one ever taught me how possible it is to build castles in the air and later live in it by building its foundation on the ground."

The above happens to be the first paragraphs of my first book, The Lessons of Life. After taking another look at these lines, I decided to start a discussion in a Group I belong to. I asked everybody involved to share their childhood dreams and how they have been impacted by these dreams.

Oyetola Daniels: The One Week Banker

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Adebola Oni

Is it possible to have a dream right from childhood, achieve it and then throw it away in a week for a higher calling?

This is the exact story of Oyetola Daniels, a young Nigerian and the CEO of Tiffy This N That Ltd, a clothing firm that has it branches both in Nigeria and South Africa.

As a ten year old girl, a Cousin of hers came to live with her family and this lady happens to be a banker. Her dressing sense/styles fascinated little Tola and she made up her mind to become a Banker.

It was a common knowledge because, "...they knew I'm always tripped with my big cousins dressing when she goes to work" says Tola.

She later attended The Polytechnic Ibadan where she studied Banking and Finance. She studied up to the HND level and graduated in 2006.

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Adebola Oni

It’s been pretty long that we did this. Naijamotivation Interview went off for a while because of my book launch and now we are back BIG and BETTER. Today we’ve caught a BIG fish, a lady that has took up the challenge of transforming the lives of youths all over the nation.

She is the brain behind The RISE Network organizers of the Youth Interactive Event that has been going round the country. Join me as well welcome this wonderful lady, Toyosi Akerele. :)

May we know you?
Oluwatoyosi Akerele but people know me as OLUWAMITOYOSIRISE of the most high.

What was growing up like for you?
I’m the first child in the family. I have two wonderful sisters and a brother. Growing up, I was very stubborn but not rebellious. I was confident and not arrogant. I was very obedient to my parents though I stood my ground strongly against some of the principles that I thought would not appeal to me. Basically I was a peaceful child.

Are you married?

No
