persist till you achieve success!

persist till you achieve success!

Today marks a significant day on this platform. It is a day that should not be allowed to pass just like that. This post marks the 100th post on this blog! I have been keeping tab of this day for some time and I have promised myself it won’t go unnoticed.

There has been a lot of reminiscing done by me for a some time and I have had cause to thank God for giving me the grace to do all I am doing. I have looked back at the first time I started this website and how things were then. For those who don’t know, NaijaMotivation.com was conceived in 2006 and experimented on some months after that. It was just an experiment that I didn’t know will come this far.

Right from 2003 I have been learning how the Internet works and what other people are doing on the Internet. I conceived the dream of being an Internet Entrepreneur as an undergraduate but I really wasn’t sure of what I will be doing back then. I discovered Web Designing and fell in love with it. I decided I was going to be running a Web Design firm and started learning everything about it.

Working as a cyber cafe attendant years back, I discovered there is so much more to the Internet than just designing website. I discovered a lot of things people are doing to earn a living online, I also discovered a lot of people using the Internet to transform people’s lives and it occured to me I could do the same. As a matter of fact, my life got started when I read a mail sent to my inbox by one of my Mentors, Mike Litman.

After making all these discoveries, I promised myself I will be using the Internet for positive impact. I started a website targeted at the Whites in 2005 and the impact it made was just unbelievable. Imagine a “little” guy right here in Nigeria telling the Whites they can achieve their dreams? Imagine the guy coaching people much more older than him and also encouraging them all the time. It was as if I was dreaming.

After the success of that website, I decided to do something for my Naija people because I believed if I have been able to affect the lives of foreigners, without leaving the shores of this country, I should be able to replicate the same here. I can’t remember how the name NaijaMotivation came about but I just knew I registered it and launched a blog May 2006. During those times, I was the only one posting and reading :) This did not deter me at all because I know if I had done it before, it is still POSSIBLE!

For over a year, there not much improvement but I kept posting. In 2007, I had to change the hosting I was using then so it was as if I was starting afresh. This also did not deter me because I was sure of where I was heading. Just as one of my Mentors, Jim Rohn, said, it is not much about where one is, it is all about the direction one is heading. I kept posting and doing some of the things I needed to do to promote the platform. The rest as they say is HISTORY!

The impact this website has made is visible for all to see. The website meant for Nigerians alone, is now being viewed from all over the world. The traffic(visitors) coming to this website has been phenomenal over the last one year. The opportunities that abound on this website alone is something unbelievable. Now I have made the decision to make this website my major concern for years to come.

Now, I have reached the century mark! Isn’t this awesome? Do you agree with me that in whatever we do persistence should take a major place? There are times we start things that do not work out as we envisaged, what do we do then? Give up? A lot of people have failed to reach their potentials by calling it quit when all they have to do, is hold on a little while. I have talked about persistence so much on this blog because I know what it can do to one’s life.

I have coached a lot of people on how to use the Internet but what I realised later is that there is this impatient syndrome a lot of people are infected with and they want to experience success without working for it. A lot of people think success comes immediately you start out even if you are not sure of what you are doing, infact I have learnt so much from people’s attitude towards success that I couldn’t help but laugh.

I don’t know what you have your hands on now and I don’t know what you are thinking about the position you are in now. I don’t even know if you are contemplating giving up at this point but I want to let you know that it is too early to quit, it is too early to give up. Just keep at what you are doing, even if it takes a while for it to show up, KEEP AT IT and wait for your day of manifestation. The lives of those that quit too soon, is always filled with regret because when they see the people doing what they abandoned, something always taunt them within and the regret is not easy to live with.

In case you are one of those that have call it quit, isn’t it time you pick that dream up again? Why don’t you learn from my experience and promise yourself NEVER to give up again. Remember, it is too early to call it quit! ;)

This is to your success.
