Mind Your Own Business!
May 31st, 2008 by BolaOni
As a young graduate, I picked up a book by Robert Kiyosaki called Rich Dad, Poor Dad and one very important advice I got from that book is MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS! Kiyosaki devoted a section of the book to entrepreneurship and reasons people should MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.
Though I have made up my mind before graduating to start a business, the reasons for my decision were not so clear to me until I read this great book that I am recommending to everyone reading this post now. After finishing this book, I have even lost count of the number of times I have read the book, my resolve to be an entrepreneur became stronger. I learnt a lot of lessons and what I could call forecasts in the book and the truth is that a lot of things that I read in that book, about five years ago, are now happening now.
How many people still see job security as an existent phenomenon? How many people are still satisfied with the job they are doing? How many people are making ends meet with the job they are doing? How many people are willing to get out of the rat race called job and willing to start their own business? How many people are now seeing their bosses as people that don’t really care about them but about what they bring in for them?
I can’t begin to share all the lessons I learnt in that book on this page, but the truth is that I knew there is nothing like job security about five years ago and that made it impossible for me to llok for any job. I realised every CEO or Managing Director, is a selfish person that is first and foremost looking after his/her own interest before mine or yours? If you are working for someone, how do they react when you didn’t meet up with the required target? Do they care about your personal challenges? Only few do anyway. I learn so many truths about job years ago and I made a decision not to have one.
The freedom of minding my own business is so enormous that I wish everyone of us enjoy it. You have the freedom to do anything you wish whenever you wish. You have the freedom to increase your line of business at anytime you wish without taking permission from anybody. You also sleep and wake up anytime you wish. The gains of minding one business is just too numerous to share here.
The decision I made years ago is that I will forever mind my own business and that it will get to the time I will start encouraging others to join me in this world of freedom. The time is NOW and this explains why I am making this post. The time to experience wisdom is NOW and nothing should stop you from minding your own business, NOTHING! What I have decided to do, is to dedicate a column on this website to everything about entrepreneurship.
I have decided to start sharing the gospel so that we call all start minding our business and what I have decided to do, is to share my entrepreneurship experiences and that of numerous others. I have created another blog and that will be dedicated mainly to articles on entrepreneurship and everything that has to do with Minding Your Own Business. I know that lack of knowledge as to what it takes to start minding your own business, has been stopping a lot of people from doing it and that is a gap I am set to bridge as from now on.

Getting rich is predictable
Einstein defined insanity as “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different reuslts.”
For you to become rich, or richer, you may need to change what you are doing. Make a commitment to yourself because you are the only one that matters in this exercise.
I’ll like to conclude with some advice from Abraham Lincoln: ” I don’t think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.”
That ’s a good incentive to pay attention to and apply what you’ve learned on a daily basis.
